What does Don Quixote have in common with bacteria?

Apparently, quite a bit. One of our reading group members found this interesting discussion on evolution and Don Quixote from an undergraduate student research blog. The paper looks at how literary criticism may have affected the writing of part 2 of Don Quixote and the reading of the novel through the centuries. It also takes up literary time, narration, and the mutual influence Sancho Panza and Don Quixote have on one another (all themes that have been raised in our group). It’s a good read!
